Really it isn't my fault this time!!

Hey Everyone, so much is going on it is crazy. Tessa is really starting to fill out. Emily is reading to get more up to date delivery methods for Tessa. I will be putting up the whelping kennel soon as we move closer to the due day. Mandy has also been helping out, she has been sleeping next to and comforting Tessa as she has started to grow. Tessa has not slowed down much, she gets her daily exercise while Braddock sleeps on the porch. Mandy and her enjoy some good girl time and come back when called.

(As for the computer stuff, this time it really isn't my fault!! OK the last month was mostly my fault, but tonight we had a power surge, and even though my server did not go down, the company the provides me with Internet did, "Yep, I made it and they didn't" - So I have a call into them, and hopefully by the time you read this they will have me back up.)

My Bronson!!

Hey there everyone, Bronson just thought we should send you an update on how things are going!!
I'm huge now, big paws and a big boy smile. I spend lots of my early mornings on walks w/mom. She usually takes me for a two mile walk in the morning or sometimes we go to the park so I can run free! That makes me happy, I can sniff till my little heart is content. I've got a new buddy named Harvey that we sometimes meet there for play dates, it's great. I still think I'm a lap dog and I'm already 90lbs... Who knows if I'll get bigger, but mom and dad love me just the same. Well we went on a long walk this evening and I'm getting tired, I'll talk with you all later. I hope everyone is doing well.

I hope Kevin and Emily are doing great, hug (mom) Mandy for me and tell (dad) Braddock i'm big and strong just like him!!

Puppies Expected Aug. 18th

Tessa and Braddock are expecting puppies around August 18th. Tessa is showing many signs of pregnancy including illness and needing more attention. We are very excited about her first litter.

The puppies will be ready for their new homes eight weeks from their birthday. We will deliver them to Seattle/Tacoma area October 9th or 16th, depending on their actual birth date and how the puppies develop.

If you or a friend is interested in a boxer puppy just send us an e-mail at psboxers@gmail.com.

Server is somewhat back

Hey Everyone, this is Kevin - I am adding this note to say that we have the server back up on one leg right now. We went down pretty hard on this change, the good news is you can always contact us at psboxers@gmail.com and we have hired a guy to come this friday to fix my mistakes that I made on Monday. Like many situations that our boxers get into, I thought it was a good idea at the time.

So Mandy is doing really well these days, she is getting lots of grey around her muzzle, and enjoys a good nap on the porch. Braddock, well he spends a lot of time with Tessa and they go around the yard with what I am sure are really good ideas at that time. Tessa, well she was sitting close to the underground fence line today, why you ask?? Because the warning sound wears down the battery and allows for a great escape later. Yea she has figured that out, sadly Braddock will probably think it is a good idea to try and go with when she makes a break for it, and well it won't end well for him. Tessa, loves it outside and more time she can spend at the fence the better. Anyway everyone have a great day.

We are not going anywhere

Hey Everyone,

One thing we believe at PSboxers is that when a breeding happens we do not force anyone involved to not do anything they do not want. The last two breed cycles Tessa rejected Braddock, we refuse to hold the female (in this case Tessa) for Braddock because he needs to romance her and if she rejects him than he just needs to try harder. We strongly disagree with forced breedings, which means our boxers need to agree and work together. To that end Tessa and Braddock worked together this time around. We are hoping the breeding went well, but will know in the future.

Next Monday, June 28th 2010, we are upgrading the server that hosts www.psboxers.com - The server will be taken down and get a good scrubbing. I am hopeful that the server will only be down for a few hours, but sometimes when I get into a really deep cleaning mode it can take longer. DON'T WORRY PSboxers.com is not going anywhere will be back up soon.

Hi!

Hello everyone!! It's been awhile so thought we'd check in. Since we last posted we moved to a new place. We have relocated to Lakeview, OR. When we first arrived there was still snow! To our amazement Myah loved it! She and Gunner had a blast playing and wrestling. Tyson ofcourse pretended he didn't like it, but we caught him playing too a few times:) We have a nice yard for the pups (and kids) to play and our house is large enough for a little wrestling from time to time. Myah went through her first heat cycle as soon as we moved, but all went well. My new boss has a gorgeous akc Boxer male (flashy fawn) that we may breed her with sometime in the future when we're all ready. She is cuddly as always and I think will stay pretty small. She filled out a bit after her heat cycle but seems to be about done other than beefing up a bit over time. Myah has turned out to be a great baseball pup. She went to my nephew's games and loved it. She ofcourse had her own blanket to lay on and she shared snacks with the kids when she thought I wasn't looking. Now that it's done raining and snowing for a few days, I'll try to get some pics taken of the pups to share. Hope all is well for everyone!! ~Susan & Myah

Some tips and updates

Hello everyone, this is Kevin and I wanted to let you know about a couple of updates. First and biggest is probably an update on Mandy. Her muzzle is turning silver as she has grown into mid-life. Now that she is in retirement she spends a lot of time in front of the pellet stove. Don't let the silver muzzle fool you, she can hold her own against Tessa. While Tessa is still our fastest boxer, Mandy still ends up with the stick because she has the wisdom. I have watched Tessa, losing the stick as Mandy twisted Tessa into a tree because Tessa wasn't paying attention. Braddock is usually on the sidelines just watching because size doesn't count when you are up against speed and wisdom.

Tessa is finally showing some real signs of maturity. We don't believe in breeding early for two reasons. The first is that it is hard on the boxer's body, and second the immature boxer doesn't make a good parent. So what does this mean, until this point we haven't breed Tessa. Moving forward we are looking forward to Tessa's first litter when it comes time. While Tessa has grown and had several heat cycles, we will most likely breed on the next heat cycle. Perhaps we are looking at puppies this fall.

Finally I wanted to share some things we have learned. If your boxer is licking paws a lot and just appears to look uncomfortable, it is possible they might have some allergies. Mandy has an allergy to corn, so we use food that doesn't contain it. Figuring out what allergy your boxer might be challenging. But what boxer owner won't raise to the challenge. What we ended up doing was visiting our vet and getting a doggy dosage of Benadryl, we switched her to several brands slowly over a 10 day period. After that we continued with that food for a period of up to 4 weeks while observed for excessive licking. We ended up liking several brands, Royal Canin boxer formula, Eukanuba natural lamb and rice, and Purina ONE Lamb & Rice. While Science Diet is a great brand, the lamb and rice formula contains wheat so it didn't help.

I am also working behind scenes to update the web site. I have made some changes that I hope to get published soon. We are moving the last litter to the puppy litter page and putting more pictures of Tessa up. My question is if current owners want updates on Mandy. I can make a place for her, but didn't know if anyone was interested. Please let me know. Thanks.
